The thing for me about this instance and ‘free speech’ is something like this:
I want to be able to browse mstdn.social safely at work or at school for example. I wanna be able to show it to family and friends without them being turned away by instant hate, endless cursing, openly NSFW content etc etc.
This has to be a place where someone has to feel safe and if that means some ‘freedom of speech’ restrictions well so be it.
The Fedi is a big place with each it’s own rules so a place for all

Don't get me wrong. I don't support free speech at work. On the contrary, there are some places where a speech code should be applied. Work being the prime example. If I hear a single coworker ever mention LGBT diversity sh#t I'M GOING TO SKIN THE AL.....
Sorry. But then, when I want some rest and need to vent, that is the time I go to socal media to openly debate. To heal my sanity. That is why I cannot be on FB, Twatter etc. I need at least one space where I don't feel judged for saying my opinion.
