@alex hard work doesn't pay off being a substinence farmer in bangladesh. it can pay off in the USA unless you're particularly bad off.

I would love to put this in a poetic way, but it is a concept so simple I cannot think of a smart way to put it.
I see many people working their ass off is a big corpo retail for decade, wandering why their wage didn't move a bit. Some people are too stupid to gain any benefit from hard work.
