I still do not understand how are public schools supposed to make a good slaves.
Most people leave them unbelievably jaded, so if there is no hope for a proper life, how exactly does that work?
@LukeAlmighty @icedquinn @Humpleupagus @Claude Because everything taught in the school is what the government wants you to know and believe, and they're based on obedience and memorizing the "correct" answers handed down by the authority, rather than thinking critically.
@LukeAlmighty @galena @icedquinn @Humpleupagus The basic skeleton of the modern school system was created at the height of industrialization, where the man would go to the factory in the morning, the child would go to school, and sometimes the woman would go to work also.
The hours were the same, the child would come home at the same time the father does, and there was a planned fluid transition from school to factory, since it was the new revolutionary and very productive way to work. That's why there is the same bell system to signify the end of work/study, etc. It was made to make people into good factory workers.
It hasn't evolved much since the post-industrialization when you think about it.
Now it's just a way to break children, especially boys, into being subservient, don't think, sit down all day long, repeat what is told to them, and stay in school while the mother works (which is great for the economy, they won't ever let the women go back home).
