- It's trivial to find conspiracy theory forums on the clearnet, because they're legal to operate, whereas CSAM is mostly limited to the darknet. (There is a whole world wide web beyond Facebook and Twitter, you know.)

- What do you think sex offender registries are for? They're even public.

@socjuswiz -I think the point is they dont do everything to stop trafficking on "public" social media but managed to track everyone talking or writting about Covid w AI.

- Hard to believe. I'm pretty sure social media giants have been using AI to try to detect CSAM for a while now. That's possibly why they already had the tech in first place and just needed to modify it to find COVID conspiracy memes instead.

Apple is currently planning to go further and create checksum databases of the photo galleries of iCloud users for quick comparison to CSAM checksum databases.

- Public registry might be limited to the US. Anyway, obviously every country with a functioning police system keeps criminal records of those convicted of CSA.

@socjuswiz a) on youtube theres network of pedos following each other and timestamping borderline sexual content in childrens vlog videos. How easy would shutting down would be really? Theyre in the open. Theres been multiple sexual trafficking on facebook, "cute young boys groups" etc

Vs b) just saying the word "Covid" in a youtube video it gets detected and the Covid banner gets added

Pretty obvious there is more effort and ressources for b)

Re. trafficking on Facebook, you probably mean people who use Messenger to arrange things secretly? Does Messenger report you to Facebook for sending other people conspiracy theories? My understanding is that it uses end to end encryption. (Probably with some intentional backdoors now to combat CSAM.)
