Here's your problem. Healthy people do not study any field in psychology. I've met several psychology experts throughout my life, and they were all among the sickest people in existence.
1) Healthy people have no reason to study it.
2) strong confirmation bias among crasies scares away the healthy people
3) Then, the crayies can among themselves produce ever-crazier theories that will drive people insane when studied.
It's an inpurity spiral.
@LukeAlmighty Your theory sounds interesting. But I don't agree with it. There are many psychologists and psychiatrists who are sons of bitches and are considered normal.
Not to mention that what you say is just a hypothesis based on a premise that you cannot prove.
Furthermore, the person who attended me is a doctor with a background in psychiatry and sexology. I'm not talking about a no one person.
I literally did a lot of research on this person before I walked into their office.

@LukeAlmighty Yes, there are psychologists with a more right-wing view. I think you are a little uninformed about this area.
But I believe so, most are probably leftists. Because usually we are talking to people who deal with other people and this is something that normally people with a left view are more capable of doing than others.

Anyway, I took the claim "there are no right wing psychologists" from Jordan Peterson. I hope the guy knows what he's talking about. And when it comes to the crazyness, that one comes from an experience.
One expert said I am so retarded because of adhd, that I will be happy if I manage to finish school for special kids.
Another expert unironically mentionned tabulla rasa in front of me, and started recommendingme some esotery books. That was a breaking point for me.
Do I unironically believe that all psychologist are sick people? No.
But I do believe, that the entire field is rotten to the core, and that I will get more psychological help from shitposting, then from "an expert".

I'm really sorry you had such a bad experience with professionals in the field. I've had my bad experiences too, but don't confuse this with all of them.
Probably for ADHD many of them know how to deal with the person very well and give a more human work that treats the person with respect and not a shit job like it was in your case.
In my case, I have more reasons to worry because I honestly think that professionals are not prepared to deal with patients who are pedophiles.

If you saw some car mechanics unable to change a tire, it would drive you crazy in seconds. Yet, expert recommending me esotery books and talking about tabulla rasa seems like just a bad exame?
I have seen doctors diagnosing my insomnia since childhood as mere "Addiction to coffee".
I am so tired of experts. In almost any field. It just happens that I know about psychology enough to see just how rotten they are. But In medicine, my insomnia is the ONLY test that I have.
And I am scared shitless of experts in any field I know nothing about, since I won't know these warning signs.

@LukeAlmighty I haven't had that many bad experiences with professionals, but I've had some.
My brother is also traumatized by this. I think a lot of them lack humanity, especially since they're dealing with other people's minds. It is very irresponsible to act as if the other person is a machine.
