I'm glad that windows is getting worse over time.
To fix things up they literally just have to go back to windows xp desktop but they wont because not "modern" whatever that means.

@mangeurdenuage
However bad it might sound, I am truly delighted about microsoft fucking up. Although the linux worshipers have been saying that "linux is finally ready for gaming" for the last 15 years, we are slowly getting to the breaking point, where it could be true.

All, that is left for lynux to become a one true OS is 2 steps.

1) A titan company seriously investing into improving it for average user (Valve seems to be taking the iniciative here)

2) One major fuck up on the side of Microsoft. (like that is ever going to be a long wait :pepelol: )

Once Lynux will be on par with microsoft when it comes to gaming, people will not be so hesetant to start switching completelly.

@LukeAlmighty
>linux
GNU/linux

>worshipers
Worship is based on faith.

>is finally ready for gaming" for the last 15 years, we are slowly getting to the breaking point, where it could be true.
If the games are proprietary the GNU/linux environment will only descend a slippery slope that will just make it go into a new windowsians nightmare.

>A titan company seriously investing into improving it for average user
Or they could just stop/educate them out of the "3 click" system that these same corporation exploiting and encouraging for the past two decades.

>One major fuck up on the side of Microsoft.
MS will never go away as long as they have a distribution monopoly over PC across the world.

>Once Lynux will be on par with microsoft when it comes to gaming
It's not the OS that has to change, it's the software developers who have to adapt their software to the OS.

>people will not be so hesetant to start switching completelly.
People will always be hesitant. Most people don't like change. That's why the domination of microsoft in it's distribution will always make the migration complicated.

@mangeurdenuage
Damn, you're black pilled.

Why do you think proprietary software would ruin open source os?

Why do you think people would buy microsoft products, when they offer nothing better?

What exactly do you think I meant by "improving it for average user"?

@LukeAlmighty
>you're black pilled.
I'm just stating what I already observed.
The gaming community is too dependent on their dopamine induced games to make a choice that would benefit them on the long term.

>Why do you think proprietary software would ruin open source os
Why would a black box software which pushed the adoption of Digital Restrictions Management in GNU/linux be an issue ?

>Why do you think people would buy microsoft products
Because it's the facto product sold with their computer.
Because, unfortunately, the average joe's knowledge on computing is abysmal thus and cannot make a choice based on long term benefits.

>What exactly do you think I meant by "improving it for average user"?
Adding proprietary software into GNU/linux.
Ubuntu does it already and it's a big issue.
Install Trisquel GNU/linux to compare a bit trisquel.info
It's the equivalent of Ubuntu but without any proprietary software.
@LukeAlmighty

Anyone who insists on calling it "GNU/Linux" is not arguing in good faith ignore the troll.

@mangeurdenuage

@leyonhjelm @mangeurdenuage
Obviously, but this thing is the first 10 responses a user gets whenever he asks...

@LukeAlmighty @leyonhjelm
Because I think it's important. I did not go further tho. You're the one who wanted to go further :shrug:
Also get this on your instance: :gnu_interjection:
@LukeAlmighty @mangeurdenuage Everyone already hates Microsoft but most people know there's no good alternative that does everything they need. No one liked Vista or 8 so they've already had several major fuckups and nothing changed. Expecting Microsoft to not fuck something up is like expecting an autistic kid to hate trains.

No average user is going to switch to Linux as long as you have to use the terminal to install a web browser.

@Jack @mangeurdenuage
Terminal to install browser is a meme.

10 page manual to find disk D is a problem. Per program access rights are something normie won't get over no matter how huge the manual is.

@LukeAlmighty @mangeurdenuage "Windows just needs to go back to XP UI" is the biggest grognar meme of them all. Every computer literate person knows that W10 is bloated with Spyware but no Linux desktop comes even close in terms of ease of use. To normies Linux will always be just the GNUcar meme.

@Jack @mangeurdenuage
I always thought the biggest problem with Linux is Linux.

But I think I mus-judged it a bit. The single biggest problem with Linux is, that whenever anyone mentiones it, the "It's awqcctuawly GNU/LINUX" copypasta appears.

@Jack @LukeAlmighty
>No average user is going to switch to Linux as long as you have to use the terminal to install a web browser.
:smug4:
Again that brings back the issue of knowledge that I stated before.
Users to not know how to manage their software. Even when it's simple as like in the video they will be lost.
@mangeurdenuage @LukeAlmighty

They should just repackage xp with a flat material aesthetic and everyone will love it

@Laconicif @mangeurdenuage
One of the beta builds of win 10 was amazing.

The OS is great... They just took it, and filled it with bloat to such a level, it's not usable anymore.

@LukeAlmighty @Laconicif
>The OS is great
:risitas1: I spend almost a week of work to try to understand, document and unfuck each laptop that has this botnet OS shipped with it.
A laptop with win8 took 48 hours max.
A laptop with XP was 24 hours max.
A laptop with GNU/linux takes 12~16 hours even less when the issue isn't hardware related.
@mangeurdenuage I still believe Windows has a decent kernel. It's the userland that lets it down for me.
