Starting pay at my company is $16/hr, plus $2K bonus, spread over six months. Health and dental. There's one requirement for getting hired: Pass a drug screen.

It's still hard to get people. And over half the people who start, quit within a week because it's boring, or it's too hard (all standing), or they don't like overtime, or whine-whine-whine.

They're right - it's boring, and it's tiring, and it's a lot of hours. And it's reliable pay.

I have nothing against drug tests, but any smart employer should completelly ignore the stimulant part of that test :ablobcool:

It's a potentially dangerous work environment, with potentially dangerous equipment. Between liability and real risk, they have to be firm.

At a previous company, one department was told to start drug testing, the and VP said she couldn't afford to lose half the department. Her rules were simple: don't take illegal substances on company property, don't be too impaired to do your job. She was awesome.
