@alex @LukeAlmighty A lot of farmers think animals are cute and still eat them. There is a long tradition of respecting the animal for providing meat and other resources. Most religions and cultures have some form of ritualized slaughter as a way of saying thanks for the sacrifice.

"Cute" has nothing to do with it. In nature, animals eat animals.
We can be carnivores and still avoid the horror of factory farming.
But, that requires getting rid of the Leftist State.
In the mean time, there's nothing wrong with vegetarianism or veganism.
