Tell me your secret :ablobcatreach:
How did you de-blobify yourself?

@LukeAlmighty intermittent fasting with minimal sugar and bread

really kills my hunger and after a few weeks I have to make sure I’m eating enough food

I’ve been doing this most of the time for the last 5 months

@LukeAlmighty I do a mix of 16/8, so eating in an 8 hour window only, and 24 hour fasts

usually two 24 hour fasts a week, sunday->monday and thurs->friday evenings

those are my basic rules, but very often I’ll only eat in a 3-4 hour window on 16/8 days because I’m just not hungry in the latter half of the 8 hour window

FWIW I find it a lot easier to be hungry going to bed than having to wait for a long time to eat in the morning, so usually I’ll eat for the first time 3 hours or so after I get up

I tried going on ~300 calories a day and this was the result.
Diet control matters a lot more than exercise.

Used a fitbit with the phone app and scanned the barcodes of what I was eating, then logged weight every morning. This was a couple years ago but I remember eating mostly small amounts of meat and cheese.

@Type_Other @LukeAlmighty I found when I maintained too large a caloric deficit my weight loss stalled completely

as soon as I started eating more like 1600-1800 calories (basal metabolic rate = 2700 calories) fat started coming right off again at the same rate it had been before

@deprecated @Type_Other @LukeAlmighty There's a reason they call it intermittent fasting, too much of it makes your body do weird shit and produce estrogen.
@Type_Other @LukeAlmighty @deprecated 300 calories? three digits? Not "300 less than daily recommended" calories, or "300 less than my previous average"? A couple of years back I lost 30 pounds in three months by drinking green tea instead of energy drinks, and otherwise not consciously changing my diet. I don't think you lost nearly enough weight in this time period to justify how harsh of a caloric limit that was.

I was in an office job and it's pretty easy without exercise. I've done some 72 and 96-hour fasts as well so I think I'm used to it. Will check in on green tea because that sounds pretty effective.

@Type_Other @apropos @deprecated
Are we talking about "some green tea" or "green tea posioning"?

And anything I should be careful of?

@LukeAlmighty @apropos @deprecated
Idk anything about green tea yet; was just referencing how he switched to it from energy drinks so I'm assuming one or two servings a day.
