Yes, exactly.
Humor was awful, effects meaningless, and the sxene where Legolas was jumping off already falling stones was beyond stupid.

But the first movie was so atmospheric, I truly could fell in love with the characters. I even remember many jokes from first movie, but not a single line from the other two.
