@Shadowman311 I honestly believe that well over half the military would have a complete breakdown if they were to ever wind up in a combat role, especially in their own country. They joined for the pay or for free college or to "get their life on track" or whatever, but it's rarely because the care about this country or the current system. The pay isn't high enough to be considered a good reason to fight and they aren't the cool mercenary Diamond Dogs warriors that are in it just for the sake of the fight like I'm sure some boomers and soyboys think they are.

I think there's an assumption that everybody in it has that there will never be mass casualty events, like somebody sinking an aircraft carrier and I think that's probably not a valid assumption moving forward

This is such a truth...
We spend 15 years of shool teaching kids to throw a ball, what a hippie wrote 1500 years ago or what name does a green bird have, while our entire science based ecosystem is based around math, physics, chemistry and IT.
That is about 5 hours a week, that will actually help the student get a job and support the society. Absolute insanity.
