While more responsibility might sound like a trash anwser, it does mean a better status and often a better pay.
I cannot believe how much responsibility I got at my job, and it fixed my self esteem issues.
I doubt ping pong table had such an effect

I get that... but.
here is something no commie will ever understand. When I got hired, i was completelly average IT student. That was terrifying, because I could be replaced in a single day.
So, I asked for the craziest post I was offered. So, now, mere 2 years later, I no longer feel firing me would be easy for the company. And that gives me leverage.
I can ask for shit knowing, that getting rid of me will cost them money.
So, responsibility can by itself be a huge advantage.
