Too much cerebration, not enough focus on end results.
@amerika
I think, it's closer to religion then cerebration for them. They saw some feature or a marketing poster saying "this is the future of company planning", and they build their entire philosophy around it.
They make it a religion, for sure! I think they do this because it is the only reason they are important.
I think of the academic in "I am Charlotte Simmons" (Tom Wolfe) often.
@amerika
Sorry, I have never heard of the book.
@amerika @LukeAlmighty loved that novel! Tom Wolfe was one of my fav writers.
@LukeAlmighty @amerika it's way more complex than that - shows what its like for a sheltered person dealing with college life nowadays. And that was before "social media" IIRC
It's a great book about basically how college has become an endless party, and the dark side of that.
Charlotte is a character worth exploring. Wolfe is great generally. Time to link this:

You have to scroll down to "Lecture Text" because of an unwise web renovation.
While watching the movie, there is a part, where he talks with some gender academic...
And while listening to him, I realized exactly why I lost interest in studying IT at an university. It's because there were teachers, who in fact aplied the same kind of "gender is a social construct" logic to computers.
And out of that came concepts where they were describing 20 different program classes in such an abstract terms, that I to this day have no idea what the programs they talksed about should be doing.
