The 3/5ths compromise happened precisely because almost none of the founders would have wanted that, though for different reasons. Slavers wouldn't want abortion because that disrupts the flow of slaves. Abolitionists wouldn't want that because they were trying to end slavery because they saw black people as human.

You do understand that it was the people against slavery, not the slavers, that didn't want black people to be counted on the census for voting purposes, right?
It was the slavers that wanted them counted, so they would have the votes in congress to make sure the institution of slavery was protected. Hence the 3/5ths compromise.

More population gives more representation, so the slave-heavy states would want slaves to count as free men in that regard. Oppositely, a plantation or farm's taxable output was quite possibly measured by how many workers it had*, so here slave-heavy states want slaves to count as less than free men, so they'll have to pay less taxes.
*I don't actually know how early US taxation was measured, I just know a practice like this was done in Europe.

Not sure of the specifics of taxation in the Revolutionary period of US history, but I don’t think this was the case.
Even if it were, though, the 3/5ths clause was purely about how they were counted for the census, and thus how many representatives the slave-holding states were apportioned in the house of representatives.

Whites still, by a long margin, live among Whites, have children with actual fellow Whites, and make friends with primarily Whites or White presenting non-Whites because that is what is comfortable.
