@n4vx I have like 3 to 5 of these at any given time, great beaters and addiction-starters . I know my rich buddies will buy them on recommendation and then throw them to me when they get a new one, I usually filter them down to the family kids when they come around.
They’re cool but the battery life varies a lot….I suspect they sit on the shelf a while because there are some that give you 6 months before needing a swap.
I think my fave timex was that slightly premium expedition flyback. That thing was funky:

I have bought myself these just to use with my suit, but I am not a big watch fan.
@LukeAlmighty @n4vx It really depends on what you do, for a lot of people a watch is more fashion than function. I can’t blame somebody with clocks everywhere for not caring.
I do push guys to get a few modest ones for the future though, it’s a very cool thing to give your some a watch for special occasions, and having a few cheaper, mechanical (NH35 is a good seiko movement you see everywhere) ones to get him started is fun. You feel awesome as a kid wearing granddad’s watch. Like right now I have an off-brand Seiko Willard on, has been a beater for a time and I’ll probably gift it to my younger cousin when he starts HS next year
