Past quad at 2 AM: "Why do I bother buying or prepping lunch every day. I should just buy an entire supply drop of MREs for my office and never think about lunch again"

Present quad: whY THE FUCK
This is a standard menu rotation which contains 24 meals and is intended to feed a soldier for 7 days. (Actually has 8 days of food)

7x breakfasts
14x lunch/dinners
+ another 3x dinner packs for redundancy and to compensate for allergies.
Day 1:
Pasta Bolognese was 10/10. Honestly the best non-homemade bolognese I've had. Maybe this wasn't such a bad idea after all.

Pack also contained a bunch of extras.
Disclaimer: I may not bother to or remember to post every time i eat lunch
Day 2:
Lapskaus, 8/10

Very good, but tastes a bit oversalted.
Pieces of meat are nice and big, but probably for the same reason it doesn't seem like all of them rehydrate quite as well as they should.
I should probably explain the rating scale btw, which goes like this:

1/10 = Actual garbage

5/10 = About what I'd expect from regular rehydrated consumer foods

10/10 = Close to or as good as "real" food
Day 3:
Kebab Stew, 9/10

Excellent, exactly what I'd imagine a kebab stew should taste like. Doubt i could come up with a better kebab stew myself. But tasted a tad too salty
Day 4:
Chocolate Muesli, 10/10

I'm pretty sure it's mostly just muesli, powdered milk and cocoa powder. Don't even know if it was freeze dried. Would be more surprising if they managed to fuck this one up.

Can't imagine it would taste any different if I made it at home
Honestly I hate it, it's so overly sweet and muesli is just boring af.

But that's because I hate chocolate muesli, not because they did anything wrong with this one
Day 5:
Creamy pasta with pork, 3/10

Taste is fine, but it's mostly just pasta with a bland herb sauce on it. Meat pieces are nice and big, but a bit lacking in quantity. Also few veggies.

Overall there's too much pasta and bland herb sauce, little else
Day6:
Vegan Chili Stew, 5/10

If I went to the store and bought some canned chili or a powder pack that says "just add water and boil" I suspect this is exactly what I'd get.

It tastes like beans in a basic tomato/chili sauce. Not really a lot more to say.
Day 7 (11.10):
Lamb Mulligatawny, 9/10

Tastes very salty. But also lots of curry flavor and large pieces of meat which make up for it. Very good.
Day 8 (12.10):
Couscous with Lentils and Spinach, 7/10

Very nice. Doesn't taste as depressing as it sounds, there's pieces of other vegetables too in there (I assume the orange ones are carrots for example). Pleasantly surprised. Could honestly consider making it at home.
Day 9 (13.10):
Muesli with berries, 10/10

Again, this one is Muesli with some milk powder and rehydrated berries. You kind of can't fuck this up. I still hate muesli though.
Day 10 (Today):
Chicken Tikka Masala, 6/10

Doesn't taste like any Tikka Masala I've had. The mulligatawny had more flavor than this one. But it still has plenty of flavor. Tastes more like "Generic Indian Stew" than Tikka Masala.

But I guess Tikka Masala isn't "real" indian food in the first place. Still a very enjoyable eat, but not close to any Tikka Masala I've ever heard of.
Day 11:
Chili con Carne, 4/10

Maybe it's all the large beans, but it doesn't seem to rehydrate properly, even though I added extra water. The meat also seems to be some weird reconstructed stuff and I can't even make out the pieces in it (listed as "meat pudding" on ingredients list). Overall it has a weird ass grainy texture.

The sauce has a decent chili flavor, but otherwise I'd take a microwave meal over this one.
Day 12:
Pasta Provence, 8/10

Dunno what the heck this is supposed to taste like, but it was a pretty decent creamy sauce and decently sized pieces of meat. The most prominent taste in the sauce was of Onion. Didn't have a lot of meat flavor despite the large pieces however.
I am now officially halfway through this ordeal 🎉
Day 13:
Chicken curry, 6/10

Chicken curry is good but this one is again not spicy at all and overly bland. The mulligatawny had far more curry flavor in it.
Day 14:
Porridge with cinnamon and apples, 8/10

It's porridge. I feel like they went a bit overkill on the cinnamon, as it's almost all you can taste. But otherwise it's like one would make at home.
@LukeAlmighty Losing weight? If anything, eating military rations constantly would make me gain weight.

But no, I'm fairly certain not much has changed
