I was about to type "and nothing of value was lost" but what if actual value is there? You know, the "normal" stuff people do on a social network. I have a suspicion the porn and the drama is overexposed because of the political shit that happened.
@corfiot @coolboymew Sounds like the normal social interactions won't suffer at all from any Elon changes though, most of the fearmongering boils down to "he might unban controversial figures and topics I dislike" which should have roughly zero impact on people using it to communicate with online friends.
@birdulon @corfiot

You're absolutely completely right in that on a surface level, nothing should be changing for them, but that's not what they're freaking out about

As I've said today already, they know, they 100% know that Twitter, the blue checkmarks which has special privilege and the overall shitlib attitude that's reigning supreme at Twitter is in "danger"
@coolboymew @birdulon so this is a kind of culture war and average joe user is the victim. they're the victim now, they'll be the victim if twitter folds and they'll be the victim if it doesn't.

I am glad I never use FB/twitter to talk to friends and family. Any space they take in my mind is a risk, apparently
@corfiot @birdulon

>so this is a kind of culture war and average joe user is the victim

This is more or less pretty much true of everything that happened in the last 10 years. It's a shit culture war, they're increasingly vying for control and the average joe that didn't want anything to do with all that bullshit increasingly got into the crossfire

I'm not schizoposting either, in the last few years you can basically notice a bunch of really weird press and shitlibs freak out like this that doesn't make any sense without context, it's all about lashing out for control
@coolboymew @corfiot @birdulon it also leads to the effect even boomers noticed where two people are living in different realities: one that's outside your door and one built up by blue checkmarks and Hollywood movies and AAA video games.

This has consequences as seen in many bodycam videos of people screaming at the cops not to shoot them then going on a police chase thinking it'll be like their favorite Hollywood movies or Netflix show, or shit like last year's fake suicide to own kiwi farms.
