The Hunter(s) and the Prey.

New personal work – I wanted to tell a scary story here that is not immediately obvious but only at second glance.

@kristinagehrmann Love the subject and style. Some obvious similarities to Hylas and the Nymphs by Waterhouse here. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hylas_an

Except unlike Waterhouse and practically any classical artist who painted sirens or nymphs you decided not to show breasts. Whatever your reasons maybe the bared breast symbolizes their allurement. And this aspect the falls flat here. These nymphs just aren't seductive.

It's really confusing painting.
Both sides have a weapon AND only one side has the lure.

I am starting to think, that the inversion was not an accident, but I see hunters on both sides.
