It does raise the question though, what effect is the monster girl thing having on the men? Surely it leads to becoming so desensitized to unique characteristics in women, even cartoon women, to the point that a real girl could seem bland and boring by comparison.

If woman can offer:
Companionship
kindness
Help in times of need
intellectual simulation
Touch
Then a 2D painting of a girl with spider legs has nothing special to offer.
But if you think, that women can only offer their looks, then there is no reason to stop at the anatomy that we were born with.

Also, I don't see why so many people are afraid of desensitization.
I used to grow up poor. Really poor. So, I used to eat a ton of shitty food. And after I ate some good ones, I lost interest completelly in the shit I used to survive on. I became desensitized.
But do I feel like I've lost something? Nah... I am happy.
