Fellas, is Skyrim a "retro" game?

@coolboymew
"retro" is a weird category, but Skyrim is a modern game by any standard.

I haven't touched it in over 10 years, it didn't feel that long because I'm just exposed to so many Skyrim memes and other bullshit like that but I was kind of shocked when I checked my steam catalog and I hadn't touched it since October 2021

I've definitely gone back to Morrowind for a couple runs of several dozen hours (TES3MP :koronesmile: ) in that time frame however
I haven't touched a Fallout title after New Vegas but I've gone back to Fallout 1 2 and tactics several times
@Jackuu @MK2boogaloo @LukeAlmighty @VD15 @coolboymew fallout 4 is actually pretty good, you have 2.8 years before it becomes a retro game

Fallout 4 is the 2nd biggest disappointment in my life when it comes to games. It had completely stripped out all RPG elements. The storytelling is so flat, you cannot roleplay anything lese but a pushower beta.

Factions are pathetic. You are a member of literally all sides of the conflict, and noone cares.

There are about 6 weapon types, and the ultimate crafting comes to: Do you want a 10 percent damage bonus, or a 20 percent damage bonus?

Power armor, the ultimate weapon of that universe... you get it literally in the first mission. I wish I was joking about it, but that decision on its own is such a worldbuilding failure, I have no idea where to begin with describing its impact.

And the base building is destroying the atmosphere even further. You have this post-apocalyptic world with toxic water, and radscorpions/supermutants roaming around, yet this mechanic makes it seem, that the only thing stopping civilization from re-building in a week is that noone cares to try it.

That entire game felt, like it was slapped together in a week. And to prove it, they slapped together Fallout 76 one week later.

@LukeAlmighty @why @Jackuu @MK2boogaloo @VD15 @coolboymew I've become completely disillusioned by sequels as a rule. I went to Bioshock Infinite's midnight launch, as I was a big fan of the first 2. Although, I've also become less impressed with 1 as the years go on too.
@LukeAlmighty @Jackuu @MK2boogaloo @VD15 @coolboymew when you press the vats button it goes PSHHHHHHHT and you get to see a cool animation and sometimes something silly happens too i thought that was great
@coolboymew @LukeAlmighty sonic 1 2 and 3 came out this year therefore they arent retro anymore ayylmao (luke cant be real)
