You can't hate Bill Gates and still run Windows.

@awry
Please, tell me how Linux is intuitive enough for anyone to understand.

@LukeAlmighty It's was a joke. You can hate Gates and use whatever you want :p But there are linux distributions with easy enough learning curve. Some of them also look like Windows a bit. Try something with KDE as Desktop Environment for example.

Noone cares what it looks like. I care about the obsession with package managers and the file system, that hides the file location compared to device.

@LukeAlmighty I think lots of people, especially if they are new to linux, care about the Desktop Environment of their OS. But of course linux is a completely different OS under the skin. And it's better. The package manager is the most secure, fast and easy way to get software. Every OS except Windows uses this model. Nowadays even Windows try to emulate it. As for the hiding of file location I'm not reallly sure what do you mean. Devices in linux are just files. You mount them in a directory and treat them as such.
@LukeAlmighty
Package managers are the least worst known solution to the problem of "installing software"
It's the appstore model before there was an app store to compare to.
We would all like something better but nobody can agree on what that would be.
