Peterson is such a damn retarded academic. He’s talking about how ChatGPT is gonna put everyone out on their ass, even says - get this - he thinks that a third of colleges will be bankrupt in the next 5 years . Of course he thinks it’s revolutionary, he’s a professor. He doesn’t do anything that actually matters in the real world.

To him, a machine that shits out pointless academic papers for no one to read usurps his job, it changes the world. In reality……well, as long as you aren’t in the content-mill industry, you’re fine.

It has to go a long way until the liability, the database, the reliability comes to fruition. As it is it will shit out a bunch of data that looks good on the first pass, but ultimately fails the second you actually try to implement it.

The idea that you can just program it to be smart is even funnier if you expect to train it with the internet. 90% of what’s out there is bunk, worthless, to the point it’s actively harmful towards finding the right answer. All you’re doing is cloning 1 million 91 IQ reddit answers.

Just wait, you’ll see GPT shit creep in, but it’s not gonna be one-size fits all. You’ll have tiers of warranty, where vital missions will have to spring for a costly data license that will have all kinds of review and refinements to minimize the chance of error, while the boring entry-level model will be barely suitable for writing a fake amazon review for chinese vibrators (because they wanna upsell you to stage II)

You’ll have someone eyeing the cost of an AI-drafted house blueprint against a pro, and they’ll have to weight the cost of a human review after the fact to make sure it actually meets spec.

It’s gonna be a mess, but retards who think “Work” consists of righting bland, inoffensive essays wouldn’t know any of that.

While I actually AGREE about the scope of AI, Papers are not the reason why universities exist. It's to teach students how to do their fucking job. And it takes a special kind of "humanities professor" to forget that.
