back in the time, the executive branch was pressuring the CIA to justify its own existence as an agency, they wanted to prove to jfk just how competent they were. so, the set up an assassination attempt that they'd foil and show just how much they need the CIA to stop such rouge foreign bad actors. it was fool proof, except, LHO got a head shot against all fucking odds, he was simply not supposed to able to have made a hit. it was a freak accident that he did, even when they stacked the deck against him. the cia is not full of evil people, it's worse. it's full of fuckup boomers who have not a fucking clue.
