@LukeAlmighty As far as I can tell new expensive phones are almost exclusively a status symbol since mid-tier ones can already do more than most people would need. The one thing they may be useful for is running ever more demanding things like videogames, but what sane person plays demanding games on a touchscreen.
I still have my 2014 phone which still covers everything I want. Battery is dying out, the internal storage isnt great (but SD cards are quite cheap compared to a new phone), and screen protector is cracked, but all fixable.
The only thing I would buy a new phone for is if they went back to the civilized practice of buttons and keypads, but the only options available right now are really expensive (and the Loonix phone crowd just keeps chasing the mainstream so nothing worth seeing there).
Sad state of affairs
I have honestly been thinking recently of buying an actual camera for taking pictures during trips and such. Maybe not necessary but taking pictures with a smartphone regardless of picture quality feels clunky.
Where did the crazy mfs at Nokia go, I need those stupid phones with a giga-camera attached to the back
