@david the Russian propaganda accounts just followed me overnight. They were easy to spot and block.

The anime accounts are really bad at trolling, especially after being on the bird site.

It seems there’s money behind it, if they’re setting up instances. The app I’m using doesn’t have a convenient way to block an instance. I might have to get on the laptop.

I think Gen-Z is to blame for this.
Let me explain. Genz live in an absolute dystopia. So, we had to learn to somehow speak about our thoughts. Whenever we spoke directly, some boomer was ready to scream at us, that we should never express these thoughts.

So, we say the truth with sarcastic voice, so we can excuse it whenever a boomer hears is. But when boomers heard the non-stop sarcasm, they caught it, thinking it is te "cool way of speaking", misunderstanding its point completely (since it was designed for that purpose). But when they are writing characters for us, they end up using that mis-translation instead.

speaking clearly and directly must be modeled and emulated. if no models, no emulation. if they'd been allowed to fight more they would talk less.

Nah, I can speak directly to normal people, but the social environment must be ready for it. Most boomers and soyed out young people aren't adult enough to hear it though, so the covert language was a necessity.
