Yeah... and he followed it by saying, that he has a 200 dollar laptop.

That was kinda the point that broke me inside.

Not arguing in favor of expensive phones but try running programs like Lightroom or other apps that use slightly-above-average power consumption on the 10 year old phone. Its agonizing.

That is the main advantage of cheap phones.

My last change was, because I managed to breat the display for the first time in my life. So, my first thought was: Guess I'm buying a new phone today.

Usually I end up switching phones because the battery shits the bed. It takes about a year for that to happen. Back in the day, I had a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It was the last fancy brand name phone I had. One thing I loved about it was that you could replace the battery without replacing the whole thing, or having to really take it apart. Just pop the back off and slip a new battery in.

I had that phone for like 5yrs due to that. I wish they would make phones this way now. I might be willing to pay a higher premium for one, since we rarely see any actual new features on these phones.

I just know, that my next phone will be Linux, because I am pissed off at the spyware.

Well, he's not an IT guy, so you do know the answer already.

@LukeAlmighty I spent some on my phone, but only because it is the only decent small-ish phone (iPhone 13 Mini). I like updates too, so that's a bonus.
