And how would that work?
Would each server have its own articles, and with every lookup offer you list of servers that are shared and have that particular article (no matter the content)?

For instance, I would be reading gamergate(a)freespeechextremist.com and there, I would click trump, and got offered Trump from every federated instance?

I'm thinking remote edits should be possible, but only based on a level of trust between instances. Maybe each article has an owner or group of owners and they can delegate edit rights to others, local or remote...

@cjd honestly, I see it being a lot like the early web. Anyone can post, there are multiples of popular things, but if one goes down, few notice.

The real kicker would be if people can seed the ones they like or support. Then you would only need a few discovery servers, and those could be hosted by the few who are able. All the while, supporters are just on the network severing to viewers.
