As long as we depend on these chemicals for modern life, they are going to need to be transported and transportation of goods is inherently susceptible sabotage and accidents like this. Anyone that wants to could make something like this happen again if they knew the schedule of a train carrying a load like that. Anyone could dump screws or oil on the highway ahead of a tanker truck. It's an inherent flaw in a nationalized/globalized society.

I believe, that laws exist to outline actions, that should not happen under any circumstance.
We have laws around flying toys that weight too much punishable by fine, that most people cannot repay in their lives, so why the fuck is it a stratch to make actions that do lead to a chernobile-sized event punishable by death?
