Anyone having a good reason to believe, that it isn't exactly what Elon intended?

How did it become closed source in the first place?

@LukeAlmighty @curtis Elon left OpenAI in 2018. In 2019 Microsoft gave them a billion, and then last month they gave them 10 billion.
@coin @LukeAlmighty @curtis Yeah. GPT3 was officially released in 2020 and is a closed source model. Prior to that they had GPT1 and 2 as open source models.
@coin @LukeAlmighty @curtis As far as I know, Elon wasn't actually the "head" of the company, just on the board. So it's possible he would've never had the power to keep it open source anyway, even if he wanted to.
@Kallian @LukeAlmighty @curtis Still, I don't think I could fault Elon in this case. With what you say, it's not like he has the full say on the matter, and things really only changed after he left.
