Fast food... reasonable price?

Bro, you've got to get some help.

@LukeAlmighty @fuggy I don't know what you're talking about, citizen. I love the food at <$BRAND_NAME> restaurants.

I can meet a 2,000 cal daily diet for less than one hour of work. Capitalism replaced famine with obesity, and while the latter is gross, it’s preferable to people going hungry. And I bet in like one generation obesity will go away too since people are adaptive; they learn from their mistakes.

@NEETzsche @japananon @fuggy
I get that and I am grateful for that fact.
I was just saying, that most restaurants are cheaper the fast foods.

@LukeAlmighty Maybe. Around here fast food is dirt cheap, and it's very accessible, so if you work 8hrs a day plus 2hrs of morning prep and commuting, it's very satisfying to be able to acquire food on a whim. And worse, it's designed to be addictive. It's designed so that people can eat like 5,000 calories a day and still feel hungry. It's actually very sinister, and it plays into the historically unique situation where poor people are obese rather than emaciated, at least in developed countries.

Like I said, I think this is going to be a problem that largely gets corrected in a single generation, either because food becomes scarce again or because fat people teach their kids better habits. It's kind of like how people who lost all their teeth taught their kids to brush theirs religiously. We're going to see a round of that.

I can only speak for the places I know, but everywhere near me a chicken sammich at a fast food place is always cheaper than a sit-down restaurant. More expensive than making my own food, but that's a given.
