Suits is unironically the dumbest lawyer show out there.
1) New technology invented.
2) A guy forgets to patent it
3) technology stolen and 2nd company patents it
4) 2nd company is ready to release product.
5) Company 1 gets the payent by threatening company 2 with....... uploading the blueprints to 4chan.
Ok.... Not only would that NOT STOP company 2 from manufacturing and selling the technology, but it would also give company 2 the ultimate reason to sue company 1 into obligation...

with the blue prints, design and notes referring back to original group that created/invented it

The problem is, you cannot open source what was patented by someone else. That is the entire core of the issue.
