I feel actually insane, but after spending over 1100h in War thunderm yet I cannot force myself to return. And when I thought about it, I realized, that the reason is..... battle pass.

The battle pass is the most toxic way of monetization, I have ever seen. And I am shocked by it, because it is so fucking bad, I cannot return to a game I used to love because of it.

@LukeAlmighty From a free to play perspective, the battle pass hasn't given you any less to play with, except for fucking up the war bond shop, but few people care about that one anyway.

@Jens_Rasmussen
Before BP, a grind was something you could do at your own pace. That means, that even the longest of long grinds were just a question of you playing the game.

BP puts a timer on your grinds, forcing you to 9-5 your relax time.

@LukeAlmighty Reaching BP-level 7 is easy, and the most important level. 17 is also good and easily possible in a season if you play regularly and get your log in rewards.
All other BP levels are either unachievable and effectively "premium content" or irrelevant cosmetics.
@LukeAlmighty What do you want from the battle pass, that you couldn't get before it? The only thing of value it can reasonably offer is SLs.

@Jens_Rasmussen Why are you absolutely ignoring that I said, that the entire point of BP is to 9-5 your relax time?

@LukeAlmighty I don't see how the battle pass makes you do that any more than you did before the battle pass, you've yet to explain that.
The only thing you have to do to advance the battle pass is your daily log-in.

@Jens_Rasmussen
Because your fucking daily login won't get you the shiny reward.

Are you seriously so dumb, that you don't understand what it can do?

Have you ever seen a casino? These people seriously don't have to play either. What's the chance they will win a million right?????

Well, BP does not challange my lack, but my grit. And that is one thing, that I have more then enough to ruin my own life.

@LukeAlmighty With Battle Pass there's a "shiny reward" that you can't get without paying. Before battle pass there were no shiny rewards that you could get without paying. There's functionally no difference.

@Jens_Rasmussen
Have you ever seen a human?
Do you understand, that motivation is not a rational concept?

@LukeAlmighty It sounds like you're falling for advertisement that you rationally know you shouldn't fall for (the level 75 BP reward), and that frustrates you.

I'm just surprised that you can't help but fall for it, since I find it easy to ignore and it's not in-your-face at all, if you ask me.

@Jens_Rasmussen
What line out of all the shit I wrote made you finally understand, that the BP does in fact affect my gaming experience?

@LukeAlmighty You referred to yourself as irrational, which is unusual for you, as I considered you a more rational person than most.

@Jens_Rasmussen
BTW, I have to add this.
Many people complained about loot boxes, and to them, I had literally the same opinion as you have to battle pass :D

They didn't bother me in the slightest. It was nice opening each box, knowing, that I get "usual shit", and not even expecting the big win.

And, it didn't stress me out, because every box was the same, and I could earn them slowly.

@Jens_Rasmussen
And I seriously didn't get, why so many people complained about them :D

@LukeAlmighty Loot boxes are fine, so long as it's free to open them. Paying to open loot boxes is the most jewish shit ever.

@Jens_Rasmussen
We agree there :D
In Star Trek online was so tidious to just keep throwing them away to free my inventory.

@Jens_Rasmussen
BTW, it's not "entierly irrational"... I did get a german Phantom. Getting a tier 7 airplane isn't something you can do in a week otherwise.

@LukeAlmighty Must've been some serious grinding. I've logged in every day and played weekly, and I never got into BP level 30.

@Jens_Rasmussen
Yeah... There is a reason I said I don't want to install the game anymore :D
