My biggest issue with catering to people who report (request censorship of) anything they even slightly disagree with, is that once that behavior is rewarded, they will come to expect it elsewhere.

Meaning they will come to expect it from the government, too.

If this doesn't bother you, it should.

@r000t I used to be a massive advocate of freedom of speech. "words only have the meaning you give them", I told myself. Maybe you think similarly.

Then the January 6th Capitol attack happened.

People cannot be trusted with fully uncensored speech. Regardless, freedom of speech is not freedom of consequences.

In your own words: if it doesn't bother you, it should.

And yes, I'm aware that censorship is a slippery slope, and powerful tools in the hands of dictatorial powertripping egotistical assholes is objectively a bad outcome. But if you ask me, fully uncensored, unregulated speech is also extremely harmful.
