- Nick Fuentes gets asked if he's a pedophile

"No, BUT....."

Optics 👏

@ChristiJunior
Pedophile.
Because it ruins the entire discussion around the relation ships.

@ChristiJunior
Optics in politics have died with "we're coming for your childern" chorus :omegalul:

@ChristiJunior
Because there is no way of raising the concept, that women shouldn't be working till 40, and maybe choose to marry young instead of getting railed..... without being called pedophile.

And that is a problem.

@ChristiJunior
I tried to debate it in here, and when I said: I would accept young year marrige, even if it included a mandatory waiting till the woman grows to 18...

I was still called pedophile, because the guy didn't understand the concept of caring about your wife.

This is the power of that fucking word.

@LukeAlmighty There's no point even trying to engage with people like that on such an issue, because it's too emotional.
@ChristiJunior @LukeAlmighty rather, I think it's that discourse has gotten so degraded by so many bad actors. If you argue for anything, it's always absolutely assumed that you're making a self-interested argument. "He wants a lower age of consent so that he can get away with one night stands with younger women."

A nice insight I got from Michael Malice is that the natural state of man is anarchy -- and not in some idealized or some pre-history scenario, not "we would have anarchy if not for all these cops", but "literally right now, *most* things work in an anarchic manner, right now". There are lots of incentives, but ultimately I sleep comfortably at night because none of my neighbors hate my guts. As the joke goes
>call the cops!
>they're not going to un-rape you!
And per this insight, as long as nobody calls the cops, as long as everyone involved is cool with what's happening, it doesn't matter what the laws are. I don't need to cry any tears over some case like a 15 year old and a 25 year old legitimately falling in love and choosing to wait for each other, because they can just do it and not tell anybody. If asked if they've had sex, they can say 'no'. And: why don't you mind your own fucking business?

Naturally if I ever advanced this position in public I would be accused of
1. being a pedophile
2. supporting entire cults and secret societies of pedos

I don't think they even assume that. They're just using this as a technique to attack whoever is speaking and one-up him in front of whatever audience the argument is held at.

The effects of having online arguments in front of an audience were well known for a long time now.
Zoommers went a step further and combined it with tying your real name to an avatar.

I am not sure what do you mean by the last line.
As far as I know, zoomers are the only ones who even get the idea of nickname.

Trying to explain online anonymity to a boomer is like explaining food to an African.

@LukeAlmighty @ChristiJunior @apropos

Well yeah, but between the boomers and the zoomers there are Xers and Yers who were taught ever since they started using the internet to never tie their online identities to their real name and always be wary of the people they meet online.
Zoomers' whole identity is one constructed online through their avatars.
To them having an argument online is an existential fight.
