You can use snaps, bottles or flatpaks and run 90% of games and windows software. Although most native Linux programs can do a decent job, like Libreoffice, Krita, Gimp, Inkscape, Audacity, Mixxx, VLC, mpv, etc. We have proton, steam and the steamdeck are using this software.

No we are actually doing things, my latest DJ mix was produced using GNU/Linux, Mixxx and a Numark Mix Track 3 controller. Steamdeck is running 90% of industry games using Arch Linux and proton. We are borg.
