Omar is a Democrat but her post here hints at straying from the party.

There's a reason people love strongmen. Strongmen project the image of power, and in the jungle, following the powerful guy has been the best survival strategy so we evolved an instinct to follow the powerful.

A lot of what the US calls "dictators" don't even need to rig the election, they are actually that popular.

Donald is not really *powerful*, but he projects the image of power and when things are as much a mess as they are, people crave that.
Electing somebody who is POWERFUL is actually not a bad strategy.

It's the devil you know vs. the devil you don't. If you elect someone with no real power in the business world, you're not really electing him, you're electing the person/people who control him.

If you believe Joe Biden is the top of the American administrative power structure, I got a bridge to sell you.

The oligarchy likes it that way because they can roll out one puppet after another and make all of the real decisions amongst themselves behind closed doors.

Hence the revolving door of weirdos and nobodies you see "leading" in western countries.

But when you start electing people who HAVE power, then there's no reason for them to follow the oligarchy's orders. They are the guy in the seat, so they can put pressure on the oligarchy.

The best move is to elect individual members of the ruling oligarchy, because every time one of them gains power over the others, the oligarchy as a whole becomes weaker.

@cjd
We live in here under a government made out of 5 different parties, and while each of them is "just bad", through the power of "compromise", somehow, they did end up being the most liberal government we ever had...

And economy looks accordingly :blobcatnotlikethis:
