I don't mind atmospheric model, but this is just retarded.

There is no reason to get so close...

@LukeAlmighty @BlinkRape @NEETzsche This is why I don't like starwars or starwars fans. You're arguing about it being stupid in-universe. The reality it's stupid as an artistic/film thing. This is something a three year old imagines and thinks is cool. This is straight out of fast and furious or something retarded.

@JAJAX @NEETzsche @BlinkRape
Do you want me post about the feels?

Obviously art is always about deh feels, but you cannot reach deh feels, if the craftshmenship is skipped.

Why do you care about colors? It's painting FFS!!!

Composition? That's nerd shit.

@LukeAlmighty @BlinkRape When I see shit like this my brain's logic unit completely turns off and I just see pew pew pew. I don't even notice retarded shit like one of the fighters getting too close, because I know the point really is just pew pew pew, and that point registers immediately in my mind. I also don't watch movies like this because I know the point immediately and that point is expressed immediately and I don't need to watch 2 hours of that to figure out that it's about pew pew pew

@NEETzsche @BlinkRape
I don't watch it either, but I get your point.

I had a similar feeling, when parent's watched some drama TV, and I thought: "All of these people are assholes, I want them all to die. Why should I care who dates who?"

It was quite an interesting feeling of dis-asociation with the entire concept :omegalul:

But yes, I LOVE a good action, but in back of my head, there are hundreds of logystics calculations. And it's scenes like this that don't even try, that destroy the illusion completely. Most likely, because the Disney writers see only "pew pew" too.

@LukeAlmighty @BlinkRape They're not thinking in terms of realism at all. They're thinking like a six year old banging his action figures together. What makes it unbearably stupid to be is the fact that in spite of being so shallow they also get very preachy with you the viewer. They want it to have a deeper message while not actually having any message at all.

@NEETzsche @BlinkRape
Yes.

And that is my entire complain.
A writer of a sci-fi world not thinking of realism is like a painter not thinking of shadows or composition.

@LukeAlmighty @BlinkRape Star Wars is science fantasy, which is another genre entirely.

@NEETzsche @BlinkRape
But the issue remains. Worldbuilding rules are one of the toold needed to achieve the result.

It's just one step, that is ignored much easier then special effects, sound, composition etc. But it has the same effect.

@LukeAlmighty @BlinkRape I never got into Star Wars in the first place but I feel like all of the shit they put out is filmslop now, not even just Star Wars.

I feel like the works of fiction that I put out in my stupid magazine have more soul, which is saying something because I openly use AI to help me generate the content. I just have a vision of what I think it should be and I get the AI and automate away the drudgery.
@NEETzsche @LukeAlmighty @BlinkRape I understand the distinction you're making here but it's really really REALLY autistic
@NEETzsche @LukeAlmighty @BlinkRape one of my personal annoyances is the inconsistency of lightsaber power. there is a scene one of the movies where they use a lightsaber to cut a hole in a bulkhead and they have to move the lightsaber through the metal slowly and with great effort. but here you can cut through an entire spaceship as easily as if it wasnt even there.

@PapaPole @NEETzsche @BlinkRape
Yes, this has to be the strongest lightsaber slash in the series so far :D

And 2 episodes ago, lightsaber pierce again failed to kill a human.
