Who's character got assassinated worse in the last episode?
@coldacid
Well, Mikasa thinks, that Eren's head falling into her arms is the most romantic thing he ever did, and Ymir fell in love with the guy who cut her tongue and killed off her family.

I never thought of it as a character assassination because it's consistent with Eren's early motivations. He cared most about his friends living to see a world without titans, and he was willing to become the villain to do it. My pet theory from the ending of S4 Part 1 was that he was becoming the villain to sacrifice himself, and that bore out.
@skypage @ChristiJunior @LukeAlmighty it’s the whole “boo hoo I’m gonna die a virgin and Mikasa’s gonna get fucked by Chad Jean” thing that ruined him for me, especially with his attitude towards Mikasa’s overbearingness even before telling her off.

Over the top paraphrasing aside, can you blame Eren given the circumstances?
@coldacid @ChristiJunior @LukeAlmighty
I'll take your word on that. I don't bother getting into the gossip of who's shipping who or the like. I can make my own opinions and enjoy the art my own way.
@coldacid @ChristiJunior @LukeAlmighty
Personally, never understood people berating artists for not writing their own story the way a spectator would prefer it. But then, I'm also the sort who would compliment an actor for doing a good job of making me HATE the villain they play on-screen. The art and the artist are two distinct entities even if they're related.
@coldacid @ChristiJunior @LukeAlmighty
That I don't doubt. 😆 Probably the same sort of appeal that draws people to watching trainwrecks on "reality" TV
@coldacid @ChristiJunior @LukeAlmighty
You're right, trainwrecks both literal and figurative 😂

Considering the dropped hints from women I missed in my own adolescence, it's not that unbelievable to me that he'd be oblivious before eventually realizing his own feelings near the end. We just have different opinions on the series, and that's okay with me.
