This is their official response to the backlash they got for adding a DRM into a 10 year old game. You cannot make this shit up. It's as if they're trying to be despised.

@LukeAlmighty oh fuck that. I bought Dead Space 3 many years ago on Steam and it worked perfectly. Then at some point EA pushed for adding EA launcher and other garbage to it, and when I wanted to re-play it, I had to download a pirate copy.

This is one reason I avoid buying vidya on Steam anymore. Sure, this isn't really Gabe's fault but the publisher's, but still I would love to be able to play the copy I bought, not the new borked version.

@LukeAlmighty IMO Steam is mostly good for indie shit, Valve releases, and some older titles. Buying AAA (even old ones) from Steam isn't something I would do if I can get these games from other sources.

As soon, as a game studio is big enough to have a launcher, I just ignore/pirate them completely.
