Maybe if the government allowed people to purchase these drugs through foreign pharmacies, foreign labs would produce them. Socialism and "public safety" kills people.

> Socialism and "public safety" kills people.

European countries, which had an immensively more active communist presence since the 1950's, have no problem importing foreign medicines.
What you're seeing here isn't "socialism" nor "public safety", it's just monopoly capital protecting it's profits

So socialism would be opening foreign markets to create competition so that the prices drop and drugs become available?

@Humpleupagus Socialism will plan for drug production, in a similar manner to how private companies already do, but with the aim to maximize the health of the public, instead of profit.
If it can be locally produced it will, if it cannot it will be imported.

@Humpleupagus Oh btw, have you leaned which german philosopher marxism took an insperation from by subverting it yet?

@Humpleupagus Wrong.
This is so bizzare, because it's not like we even hide it.
Hint of the day, you often see his the name of his philosophy together with "materialism", sich as "<philosophy> materialism"

"Whatever I think is good, like importing drugs to increase supply and lower cost, is socialism, but everything I think is bad is a failing of capitalism." — You

I have been waiting for almost an year, to get my skin checked.....

Public health care :ablobcheer2:

@LukeAlmighty @Humpleupagus The fun thing is that our goverment has been cutting public health care funding while increasing the money they give to the privates, and waiting time has gone up with an almost linear relationship, while the price of the privates have stayed the same.

Government gives money to corporations...

And you still call it private healthcare :omegalul:

@moffintosh @Humpleupagus
Yes, what you described is exactly what the economics do predict will happen when you change the customer from patent to the government.

@LukeAlmighty @Humpleupagus@eveningzoo.club
> An entity which has a monopoly on buying has less power than a bunch of small aquirents against an international cartel

@LukeAlmighty The goal is to profit, but is the method of profiteering that you are wrong about.
There is a reason there has been a generelized push to privatize healthcare all over the planet: from China to Italy, from Canada to Vietnam, from France to the UK. It has resulted in an increase in prices for common people and fatter dividends for the shareholders across the entire world.

@moffintosh
Government is not generating profit by buying medicine... :ReimuFacepalm:

Why do I even bother at this point? I know you don't care anyway. just watch the pinned dance, since discussing beyond that makes no sense.

@LukeAlmighty
> Government is not generating profit by buying medicine...
The hell are you talking about? Of course it doesn't.
Goverments don't even need to profit, if they wanted money they could just print it

@LukeAlmighty The goal of private entreprises, including private healthcare providers, private medicine manufacturers, etc

@LukeAlmighty @Humpleupagus@eveningzoo.club Yes, that's called buying because we haven't nationalized medicine production
