@Nesano @Paulyfrog64 @PalePimp I did a writeup on Invincible Season 1 a while ago:
"I’ll give it some credit, the first episode is pretty strong, the animation is good, the show keeps a brisk pace and the scenes Omni-Man is in are generally great. Invincible’s mom is pretty well-written, Cecil the superhero agency glowie was a good the-ends-justify-the-means type character (his final confrontation with Omni-Man is genuinely suspenseful), and I liked Robot until he became a simp. That said, holy shit, this sure is a contemporary Western TV show alright!
For starters, it’s really anti-White. I heard that Invincible was dating a black chick, and thought that was pretty much the worst of it, but no – the Diversishit is out of control in this show, the fucking MAJORITY of heterosexual relationships depicted are mixed-race, and despite being a Superhero show, the number of genuinely heroic straight White male characters can be counted on one hand, with several fingers to spare.
…but all the biggest assholes and losers in the show are straight White males, because of course. Also, despite White people making up a minority of the actual heroes, they sure seem to make up the majority of the civilians being slaughtered in graphic ways, at least in the first episodes. Funny how that works.
Of course, it’s not just anti-White garbage, there’s Poz too: Invincible’s best friend is a faggot, and his boyfriend is the only White alpha male who’s actually not portrayed as a bad guy. And in the end, the memory of their teenage gay buttsex is so powerful and beautiful that it’s able to override supposedly unbreakable mind-control (not making this up). On a related note, despite tons of extremely graphic violence (eyes being popped out of their sockets, brain-mass being splattered, guts being spilled, that sort of thing), there’s zero female nudity in this clearly adult-oriented show, and the only fanservice allowed is aimed at girls and gays, straight men get nothing, except Atom Eve’s supposedly revealing costume (which isn’t revealing at all, but whatever).
Speaking of Atom Eve, her dad is of course portrayed as a bad guy for wanting her to eventually settle down, marry and have kids, because that’s apparently just him being selfish (remember girls, parents don’t actually want what’s best for you, they’re just selfish jerks who DON’T UNDERSTAND, you the teenage girl always know better)."
I also had a whole section solely dedicated to just how awful Amber the Mary Sheboon is.
