The most important part of math is the understanding of limitations. Because everyone can crunch numbers, but literally all of the numbers are useless if they just don't apply to the problem.

I have seen people way too many times to just grab random numbers, throw them together and throw the result at you with a smile, even though, the airplane is somehow flying at -300km/h.

And the problem literally starts in school. It is a learned issue, since kids learn to throw numbers before they learn the meaning of the operations.

I tried teaching a high schooler, and when she read a word problem, she just underlined all the numbers, and then threw then together without 2nd thought. Sorry, that is just not acceptable.
