The best motivation for fat loss:
You're going to be here 5 years from now. And the next 5 years will be suffering. Noone can change that.

Now, here is the question. You know, that your next 5 years will be suffering. But, if you suffer doing nothing, you will be suffering the 5 years after that too. Or, you can suffer just a slightly more for the next 5 years, and then have it finally solved.

When worded like this, it does put a different perspective on the suffering of today.

That makes it sound like losing weight is a one-and-done kind of thing though, which it is not. It is a lifestyle change that means cutting out some luxuries.

SHUT UP ABOUT THE LIFESTLYLE!!!

That is literally the anti-motivation. Maintanance and weight loss are completely different things. And you're tmaking it sound like an ethernal hell.

Yeah, you're 85 and still fit. Now, you can finally eat the 1 cake in your life.... Does that sound reasonable?

I'm just saying, I might go to the gym nowadays, and it keeps me a lot healthier compared to when I didn't, but it certainly comes at a cost of a lot of free time.

Yes, but the last thing you want to tell anyone who is trying to lose weight is, that he will have to spend 5h a week of their life there even 20 years from now. At that point, living the lazy lifestyle is the reasonable choice even based on the time saved alone.

And it's not fucking true either way. Weight loss itself is a one time thing.

@LukeAlmighty @Jens_Rasmussen Trick with weight loss is its a LIFESTYLE
not a temp fix/temp 'diet'
It's not a one time thing, because unless changes are made for the rest of one's life, either in calorie intake or in calories spent, then the weight that was lost will be regained.
>At that point, living the lazy lifestyle is the reasonable choice even based on the time saved alone
It sure feels that way sometimes, but working out does open some possibilities that would not have been possible otherwise. Whether those possibilities are worth the trouble is the real question.
