Some of it is inflation , the other is MS cancelled their mid gen hardware and released a 2TB xbox series x edition for 599$ , sony is positioning itself to be the next apple thing where they have coastal zealots buying expensive shit for the sake of it , the next nvidia halo card will be $2000 + btw
