Maybe I should re-watch Frieren. How bad can it be?
Literally the first episode is fucking brutal... I am crying FFS!!!
@LukeAlmighty It sets up the premise: That Frieren's perception of time, as a 1000+ year old being, is very different from that of humans.

@LukeAlmighty I do plan to watch frieren later on down the line. I want to watch a lot of happy stories first before I go on to some sad ones.

Yeah, it is definitely a melancholic perfection. So, I would not recomend it, if you're trying to keep up-beat mood :D

Also, if you want something up-beat, then watching Dandadan feels like a celebration of life for some reason. 
Also, you got to apreciate, that the episode is AT LEAST 60 years long.
That is a fucking breathtaking dedication to unusual storytelling.
