@lizzie literally the same thing happened when trads and conservative Protestants freaked out when Pope Leo said that being pro life means being against the death penalty and the unjust treatment of immigrants as well. Literally there is no justifiable reason why any Christian should be mad about him saying that.

@luce-anon the reason some people are mad at that statement is because some people take up the identity of Christian solely as a social signifier for their political belief and some kind of justification for them rather than the actual belief of Christianity.
