Shall we push for Platinum once again in 2025?
Last year, your support placed Nextcloud at the top of the CloudComputing-Insider IT Awards. Let's get there once again!
Here's how to cast your vote: https://nextcloud.com/blog/vote-for-nextcloud-in-the-cloudcomputing-insider-it-awards-2025/
So the Canadian government is continuing to try to get rid of cash. Bill C-2, if passed, will make it illegal to donate $10,000 or more in cash or amounts totaling $10,000 or more in cash to any group. You can bet that they won't stop there, once they can have it set at $10,000 they can always lower it more and more and widen the scope beyond donations. I am willing to bet that donations to political candidates will be exempt, can't have the government misisng out on possible bribe sources. The JCCF has a petition for anybody wanting to sign against it. Regardless of whether you sign the petition I recommend contacting your MP and seeing where they stand on it and making sure they know that a vote hangs in the balance.
I have been gaming since 1992 and building PCs since 2003. I enjoy Linux, supporting FOSS projects and am a tinfoil hat connoisseur.
Many FOSS projects rely on donations. If you have money to spare but don't know which to donate to take a look at the above links on Ko-fi, Github, and Open Collective. Anything on there that I have sponsered or contributed to is something I have found to be worthy.
