@satanya They're teaching us emacs at my uni. For some fucking reason.
@satanya As in we literally just had an hour tutorial using emacs. They're also teaching us useless shit like legacy OpenGL. Legacy GL was replaced with GL2 back in 2004, many implementations no longer support it and modern GL is a completely different API now so you basically have to learn it all over again.
I also already know modern GL and Vulkan to some extent. I'm being scammed out of £9k a year. I wish I was learning C.
@satanya Yeah, I swear to god I'm just going to try my hardest to be in a position where I can drop out at the end of the year and be self employed.
I'm paying out the nose to be in a city I hate getting taught stuff I already know by lecturers who can barely string a sentence together.
On that note, do you want to know something golden? I have a friend in first year and his lecturer banned all laptops in the programming module because the typing distracted the lecturer. They have to write code down on paper and copy it up later. This place is a scam.
