Since I'll be in the apt I can finally learn C after talking about it for three years. Any tips, guides, recommended introductory walktrhoughs before I try K&R?

@se7en
There's a youtuber called TheChernoProject who does some great C++ tutorials. He helped me learn the basics when I was just starting out and most of it should apply to C as well. There's also cppreference.com and cplusplus.com that provide some really nice documentation for C as well as C++.

@se7en same basics apply, though. just avoid anything starting with 'std::' and you're fine

@VD15 Alright. I once found a "basics" tutorial made by a dutchman who's accentm ade him sound pajeet.

@se7en Was it an actual pajeet or is it just the tutorial effect making him sound like one? You can normally tell if the microphone peaks more than three times a second. Either way, just imagine him eating copious amounts of cheese while wearing cloggs. As long as it's not a magical talking notepad.

@VD15 I have been procrastinating about learning a language for three years now...

@se7en why learn something other than your first language? Just be like all the cool kids and use JS and Python for LITERALLY FUCKING EVERYTHING.

@VD15 Hopefully I can learn C before I enter CS/EE in college which I plan to do by Winter

@se7en CS at college is literally just paying to get lectured by Ling's instead of Pajeet's. If you can teach yourself, you're going to have a much better time.

@VD15 I'd rather have a structured class, and get a degree.

@se7en fair enough, but do yourself a favour and use the free time you'll get to start your own project. Employers like to see that stuff and it may take off at some point. A degree ain't worth a whole lot by itself unless you can back it up with something.

@VD15 I've actually have had several projects in the past, many of them unrealized. Perhaps the most involved but undeveloped was AutiNet, which I stopped after discovering CJDNS.
