Tip, old routers have no way of telling you rather have a medium signal 5GHz than a full signal 2.4GHz net.
Chang Beacon Interval 2.4GHz from 100 to 200 and it helps a little.
In my old tp-link router is under
Advanced > System Tools > System Parameters.

Not on that one. I fell victim to necessity and bough one that is not supported by OpenWRT, next one should be.
